OCEANSIDE – Two candidates in the November municipal elections will hold events tonight.

Councilman Rocky Chavez, a candidate for mayor, will hold an informal reception starting at 6:30 p.m. at his campaign headquarters at El Camino Real and Oceanside Boulevard. The event celebrates Chavez's endorsement Monday night by the San Diego County Republican Party.

Also at 6:30 tonight, City Council candidate Charles Lowery plans an hour-long volunteer rally at his campaign headquarters at 3320 Mission Ave., Suite N.
